Some 40 former workers of a rubber estate in Kedah decided to camp out in front of the menteri besar’s office in Alor Setar, Kedah to protest a week-long water supply cut at the estate.⠀ ⠀

A source told FMT that the authorities had cut water supply to their homes at the Padang Meha estate, which sits on land owned by Vintage Developers Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of MBF Holdings Berhad.⠀ ⠀

They said the move was to evict them, amid efforts to seek compensation allegedly promised to them by MBF Country Homes and Resorts Sdn Bhd in 1997, which bought the land in 1995.
